Background
Jim is a licensed architect in his home state of Florida. He earned a B.Arch degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he studied classical architecture and participated in the Rome Studies Program. After graduation, Jim worked for five years at ADAM Architecture in Winchester, England, where he contributed to commercial and residential projects in classical and traditional styles. This was followed by four years’ experience at Fairfax & Sammons and RAMSA in New York, with a focus on traditional residences. After moving to Los Angeles in 2017, he joined Tim Barber Architects, where he was IA Senior Project Manager. His project experience includes renovations and new-build homes in traditional and vernacular styles.
Jim served as a Board Member of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) Southern California Chapter from 2024-2025. He was also a member of the Events Committee and taught with New Heights, the ICAA’s youth education program. In 2023, Jim was awarded the Christopher H. Browne Scholarship and attended the ICAA Drawing Tour in Newport, RI.
Jim participated in both the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Diversity Scholarship Program and the Los Angeles Conservancy’s Community Leadership Boot Camp in 2022. He became a docent at Hollyhock House in 2018 and at the Schindler House in 2022.
